Snowmail (the excellent news-to-your-inbox email which arrives at about 6.30pm every evening, thus prompting me to leave the office) reports:
Tesco is claiming it’s the biggest shake up in the dairy industry in years. The supermarket, which is Britain’s the largest single retailer of milk, has announced it’s going to pay farmers more for the milk they produce. And it’s going to work with named farmers and offer consumers the chance to buy locally produced milk. But with the dairy Industry gloomy about the future of milk production critics say the move is long overdue and may be too little to late.
We’ll see. Long overdue. Not a topic upon which to encourage me to ‘start’.
