I often think that it would be a good discipline to think more critically about the films that I watch, rather than just to let them wash over me. Not that I mean to start keeping a notebook next to the DVD player – but thought that I would blog some thoughts (not original – stem from a discussion at a film club at Mr E.’s training establishment) about how to think about films as a Christian.
1) What makes this a good / bad film? What do I like/dislike about it? What makes it satisfying/dissatisfying?
2) What are the big ideas that the film explores?
3) How does Christianity connect with these ideas?
Hopefully that might be a useful starting point – blogged so I know where to find my notes!
